Arcade Block, February 2015

In February, I couldn’t resist the promised Legend of Zelda loot in the Arcade Block so here it is!

P1110926

First up is a wonderful Link plush. I already had one of those, but hey! two is better than one XD

P1110927 P1110932

Next up is a pac-man key chain that makes pac-man noises (!) and a lovely Starfox Coffee cup!

P1110929 P1110930

Then there was a buildable figure of Sonic. This one is probably going to end up in my nephew’s hands since he loves Sonic haha

P1110931

This month’s shirt was a very beautiful Majora’s Mask themed shirt.

P1110933

Last of all is this lovely map of Hyrule in A Link to the Past printed on a mouse pad!

Until Next Time!

Wine Bottle Decoration, Part 2 – Tissue Paper Pompom

DIY found here: http://www.taradennis.com/create/accessorise/tissue-paper-pom-poms.html

Ingredients

P1110915

  • Ribbon
  • Tissue Paper
  • Double-sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Thread
  • Skewer sticks (or something else to hold the pompoms)

Step One

P1110917

Using about 7 pieces of tissue paper cut down to 25cm x 17cm, fold them “accordian” style. Tie a thread around to hold it together and place another piece of thread under the knot. This piece will be used to tie it around the skewer stick.

Step Two

P1110918

Cut the edges to form some kind of triangle

Step Three

P1110920

While holding the middle (where the thread is), carefully seperate each piece of the tissue paper to form a pompom

Step Four / Final Product

P1110923

Using the double-sided tape, tape some ribbon arround the top of the bottle to hide that orange thing that was there last week. Tie the pompoms around one or several skewer sticks and place them inside the bottle. Voila!

I’m not quite sure if I like how it looks, I think I might change it in the future and try to find branches like in the tutorial I linked to above.

Until Next Time!

Place the painter’s tape in the pattern you want

Step Two / Final Product for Part 1

Step Two / Final Product

P1110866

I sadly didn’t have time to do a Valentine’s craft because one key ingredient to the DIY I wanted to do isn’t arrived yet 😦 I’m still going to share the DIY once I’ve finished it though!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Until Next Time!

Nerd Block, January

In January I decided to go for the Nerd Block again because they said there would be some Star Wars loot, and I simply can’t resist Star Wars stuff!

P1110884

First off is a Doctor Who shirt. It looks awesome, but since I don’t watch Doctor Who I can’t enjoy the awesomeness to the max.

P1110885

Next up is some awesome elf ears and better yet a Hobbit bookmark and Gandalf’s staff as a pen! We can’t quite see it in the picture, but the bookmark is like in 3D. I don’t know how it’s called, but when you look at it you can see some depth (please tell me you understand my rambling?)

P1110886P1110887

Then there was a cute little Grumpy Cat plushie XD and this scatter brainz thing. From what I can understand, you throw the scatter brainz on the “Office Decision Maker”.

P1110889

Another thing included in this Block was a Star Trek comic. I’m not sure if it’s a crossover between Star Trek and Planet of the Apes or if that planet existed in Star Trek (I’ve never watched Star Trek), but it looks like a nice read.

P1110892

Last, but not least, is this awesome real clip of film from Star Wars Episode V! There’s even a little card that says it’s authentic!

Next month I’ll be bringing you an Arcade Block with some Zelda loot in it!

Until Next Time!

Mini Old Navy Haul

P1110573

Old Navy had a sale before the holidays and I couldn’t resist a few items, so here’s a mini Old Navy haul!

P1110575

First off is a cute 3-piece pyjama. I just couldn’t resist that rockin’ bear haha

P1110576

Then there’s this beautiful shirt. I love when he wears those kind of shirts and he didn’t have any in his size anymore so I just had to buy one!

P1110578

Lastly, this will be more for summer, but who can resist a batman shirt this cute? Not me!

Until Next Time!

Nerd Block, December 2014

So apparently I’m still torn between Nerd Block and Arcade Block because there’s something awesome in this block and possibly something awesome in next month’s Nerd Block as well. But let’s not think about next month yet and see what we got in this month’s.

P1110775P1110777

First off is this month’s shirt! The Butter Beer annual pub crawl shirt is the one everyone received and for Christmas, Shirtpunch decided to give us a second shirt chosen randomly by them. I got Tink Girl! Love them both!

P1110781 P1110782

Next up is a Tetris notebook. I love how the page edges are done like Tetris pieces 😀

P1110785 P1110786

Then we got another little something to build. It’s a Dungeons & Dragons builder pack. You get a random character. I got Darvin the soldier (I’m guessing from his armor). The card gives you his stats haha

P1110780

The “big” item for the month is this autographed Willow print. You could either get one signed by Warwick Davis or Val Kilmer. I got one from Val Kilmer. I put “big” because I don’t exactly know this movie or these dudes (I know them by face, but I couldn’t say what they were in) so it’s not such a huge thing for me.

P1110779

Now THIS is the big item for me 😀 A wonderfull GIZMO PLUSH. I am in love with it XD

Until Next Time!

Christmas Jars

Today I have a little 3-in-1 for you guys. It’s pretty much the same project, but with different styles.

Ingredients for Snowman Jar:

P1110591

  • Jar
  • Chocolate of your choice (I chose kisses wrapped in silver paper)
  • 3 black pompoms
  • Hot glue gun
  • White tissue paper

Step One:

P1110615

Use the hot glue gun to glue the pompoms on the jar

Step Two:

P1110617

Put your chocolate in the jar! I didn’t have enough to fill the jar (even though what is in there is actually 4 bags!) so I put some white tissue paper.

Ingredients for Santa Jar:

P1110592

  • Jar
  • Chocolate of your choice (I chose kisses wrapped in red paper)
  • Black and Silver pen
  • Double-sided tape
  • Paper
  • Red tissue paper

Step One:

P1110609

Cut a piece of paper and color it black with a silver belt buckle

Step Two:

P1110614

Use the double-sided tape to tape the belt on the jar, then fill it with your chocolate of choice and the tissue paper if you don’t have enough chocolate to fill the jar.

Ingredients for Elf Jar:

P1110594

  • Jar
  • Chocolate of your choice (I chose kisses wrapped in green paper)
  • Black and Gold pen
  • Double-Sided tape
  • Paper
  • Green tissue paper

Step One:

P1110595

Cut a piece of paper and color it gold with a black belt buckle

Step Two:

P1110608

Use the double-sided tape to tape the belt to the jar and then put the chocolate and the tissue paper inside (if you didn’t have enough chocolate).

Final Product:

P1110627

Here are the three jars together!

Until Next Time!

Ribbon Tree

Idea: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/263812490643649759/ (Sadly the tutorial isn’t there anymore so I improvised)

Ingredients:

P1110579

  • Cardstock
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Tape (I actually ended up using tape instead of the hot glue gun)

Step One

P1110580

Cut a Pacman-like shape in the cardstock

Step Two

P1110581

Roll up the Pacman-like shape to make a cone. It didn’t end up as tall as I wanted it to be, but it was the biggest I could do and it still ended up pretty.

Step Three

P1110582

Make loops with ribbon pieces and attach them to the cone in the matter you chose, for me it’s tape, and make layers. My cone made three layers of ribbon loops.

Final Product

P1110584

I put a strand of ribbon on top to hide the last bit of tape and one at the botton since the white of the cone was most visible there. It didn’t look quite like a Christmas tree so I added a star at the top and now it’s perfect! I’m probably going to add some transparent duct tape around each layer’s tape to make sure it sticks well because, let’s be honest, scotch tape isn’t the best at holding stuff.

Until Next Time!

Santa Wine Bottle Decoration

Idea from here: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/263812490646735608/

Ingredients:

P1110562

  • Wine bottle
  • Big white rhinestones
  • Small/Medium yellow rhinestones
  • Red and black paint
  • Scissors
  • Paint brush
  • Thread (I actually ended up using cotton balls because my thread was too thin)

Step One

P1110564

Paint your bottle in red

Step Two

P1110568

Paint a black line as thick as you want to make the belt

Step Three / Final Product:

P1110569

Put your rhinestones and the cotton balls (or the thread if you had larger thread). I’m not quite liking how the cotton balls look on top, but it’ll do for now.

Until Next Time!
