Dryer Vent Pumpkin

Sadly, my cold kept me from being able to read my book. I kept practically falling asleep everytime I had more than a paragraph read. So today you’ll have this week’s DIY early, and hopefully you’ll have Wednesday’s review tomorrow. Enjoy!

I adore Halloween. My two favorite holidays, without a doubt, are Halloween and Christmas. I started looking through Pinterest to see if I could find some DIY decorations for Halloween and I found this awesome idea: http://adiamondinthestuff.com/2011/09/dryer-vent-pumpkin-tutorial.html and decided I could not not do it!

  • Dryer vent, mine was too big so I had to cut it with an exacto knife and pliers (I think that’s what they’re called) to cut the wires. Which ended up giving me enough to make two pumpkins!
  • Spray paint. I chose the traditional orange pumpkin XD
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Spanish Moss
  • Hot glue gun, with glue sticks of course

Step One:

That was probably the hardest part of the whole DIY. Using the hot glue gun to glue the two sides together so it makes a circle. It must have taken me like ten times for each pumpkin before they finally glued together. The stupid glue dries up too fast!

Step Two:

Spray paint your pumpkin. I had to do two coats.

Step Three/Final Product:

Use the hot glue gun to glue the spanish moss and the cinnamon sticks. There’s obviously going to be some moss that falls off, unless you’re an expert with hot glue guns unlike me, but it should mostly stick there.

Until Next Time!

Young Mom ❤
