January was a very slow month for us.
We spent the first week at my dad’s. Nothing much happened during that week since we were so tired. On the 31st of December, my SO and I managed to stay awake until midnight to “celebrate” the New Year, while my dad and sister went to bed way early. We were actually going to go to bed a bit before midnight, but we had forgotten to wash and prepare Xavier’s bottles. Since Xavier wasn’t sleeping well, and we were exhausted, we decided to leave early to rest a bit at home before coming back on the fifth for my nephew’s birthday.
Once we got back home from our “vacation”, we started trying to give Xavier pieces of a banana to start getting him used to chunks of food. He wasn’t taking the pieces himself, but when I put them in his mouth he would chew them before swallowing.
Xavier also started dropping things on purpose. The first time I saw him do it, I laughed so much and found him so cute! He would push a toy on the ground then lean in to see where it fell. Then he would look at me with a huge smile and start wiggling in his exersaucer until I gave him back his toy. He could spend five to ten minutes doing this over and over again.
We also started practicing walking with him holding onto his rolling dog. He had a bit of a hard time at first, not quite having enough strength to hold himself and not quite knowing how to go forward. But he quickly got a hold of the going forward part. We just had to hold him a bit to make sure he wouldn’t fall.
Until Next Time!
